"I am Dr Ameglio’s #1 fan. He did my hip replacement surgery a year ago and I at times I forget I have a “replacement”. I have no pain or restrictions at all. A couple months ago I took a cross country flight. I set off the metal detector when going through the TSA check. After going through and setting it off a couple times the attendant said “any chance you have an artificial joint in your body?” I said OMG, I forgot that I have an artificial hip!
There will likely come a time my other hip will need replaced as well (darn arthritis) Wheever that time comes you can bet I will be calling Dr Ameglio!

"I have had foot issues since middle school and have three different surgeries trying to repair my bones and realign them so I can walk with less pain each surgery left me in more pain and my toes turned sideways and crowding and pushing on one another , Then I met Dr. Ameglio and he came up with a strategy to straighten my toes back out the way they are supposed to be he listened to my concerns and we agreed on the solution .I have NEVER been treated so well and compassionately before and had everything explained so well. "After suffering in pain for many years and receiving injection after injection with another orthopedic I sought out the help of Dr Amiglio and his staff and was immediately informed of the S.I joint fusion and confronted with the reality of my condition. After being informed of the proper procedure the staff quickly sought out approval from my insurance company which we all know can be difficult at times, they even brought in another company to help with the approval. Once the date was set and the procedure was completed I felt so much relief. Aside from the normal aches due to the recovery process I was walking four days later under my own steam and after a week and a half most if not all the pain was gone. I am very grateful to everyone at his office and I’m actually returning rather quickly to have my right hip replaced. Thank you so much to Dr. Amiglio, Valerie, Louise and everyone in office. My first impression was seeing the scriptures on the wall and positive biblical verses and I knew I was at the right place. I felt at peace.
The nurses have worked with me on getting my FMLA paperwork completed and never once made me feel as if I was a burden. They were andnare always very positive on the phone and in person.
I saw Dr Ameglio today 10 days post op and he put to rest my lack of self confidence as to where I was in the healing process. I thought I wasn't doing enough and he assured me I am doing a great job in recovering and reminded me its a process. I walked out of the office feeling much better and more positive.
They also do no make patients wait. I have never waited longer than 5 minutes. Also Dr Ameglio walks you out while encouraging you. This small gesture means alot. He doesn't cut you off when you talk and explains all processes in detail.
Overall this place welcomed me and I will never go to another Orthopedic doctor ever. Good people."
"I had a knee replacement performed by dr. Ameglio Jan 6, 2020 and couldn't be more satisfied with the results. Dr. Ameglio explained everything about the procedure to ease much of my feelings about the surgery. The surgery went very well and I was able to walk a few steps the following day and went home. He visited me multiple times in the hospital and met with my family also. We knew I was getting great care and would be able to contact him any time I needed help. Now, 10 months later, I walk at least 4 miles a day, golf regularly, and feel years younger. Many mornings I sit on the edge of my bed and still expect to feel the pain in my knee when I stand up as I had before the surgery. Then I stand up and there is no pain at all. All right! Another active day ahead thanks to dr. Ameglio."

"Dr Ameglio has done both of my hips in the past two years and has preformed a SI joint fusion for sciatica within the past 6 months. When I had my last hip done about a year ago I was continuing to have pain in the hip area. Dr. Ameglio diagnosed sciatica and did the SI fusion for me six months ago. What is interesting is a lot of patients present with hip pain after a hip replacement and it is sciatica rather than any problem with the new hip. He diagnosed me and did a fusion of my SI joint. I'm a 71 year old recently retired nurse. I've always been super active and now I can return to my rollerblading and aggressive activities that I have done in the past. I was told by two different doctors I would take 3 to 4 months to recover. I had surgery January 6th. I had my cast off and was back to life in less than two months. Dr Ameglio is so kind. "Dr. Ameglio is like a breath of fresh air in an often ineffective medical surgical environment. His super Path approach for a total hip replacement is preferred,as it reduces lengthy recuperation, reduces need for opiates and facilitates return to normalcy. His demeanor is encouraging & soothing. His staff arranged all my post op home care,which went very well. 3 & 1/2 weeks post op, I am full weight bearing & discharged from acute care. The procedure was done as an out patient, no hospitalization.

"Extremely nice guy, 5 surgeries, not for the better, intractable pain, operated other surgeons. Was referred by a neighbor. Walked in, explained where my pain was emanating from, he knew immediately where the issue was. Came back for an epidural, the pain was almost gone . 5 surgeries , countless shots, years of agony. 2 different surgeons . Dr Ameglio performed an Si fusion. I had just come back from one of the top surgeons at the University of Miami and he couldn’t find the source.Dr Pete nailed it. Small office, great office staff, very down to earth. Highly recommend. "I did a lot of research on the hip replacement surgery know as SUPER PATH hip replacement. Dr Ameglio's name was listed as doing that type of surgery. I know plenty of men that had hip replacements but none of this type. My brother with two hip replacements knew about it but that was all. On his they cut the muscle and he said it takes a long time to heal. I had my SUPER PATH hip replacement done by Dr. Ameglio on September 2, 2020. Today, less than 2 weeks after surgery, I had my stitches taken out and am walking with a cane. I have very little pain and the only restrictions are "If it hurts, don't do it". Chipping, putting is okay. Fishing is in also. Because of where the incision was made, no muscle is cut and the recovery time is so much faster. I am 80 years old and came though this surgery with no problems. Dr. Ameglio is great to work with; pleasant, informative, and straight forward about what needs to be done. I am not an expert on this SUPER PATH hip replacement but with personal experience I would not have it done any other way. Thank you Dr. Ameglio."
"I posted a year ago and this is my update: I saw Dr. Ameglio for an SI joint fusion last year on the right side. I am a former patient of his who also had a successful surgery for an ankle tendon repair years ago.
I was absolutely petrified to have an SI joint fusion surgery done. I was fearful of everything that could go "wrong". I asked a million questions. Dr. Ameglio was very compassionate and patient with me at every appointment- always taking time to address all of my concerns and questions. He was confident that this surgery would resolve my long-standing issues and pain on that side, but did note that I may require a bilateral SI fusion. I put my faith in him and his expertise.
His quiet and calming demeaner was the exact approach I needed to help alleviate my fears. On the day of my first surgery, I was a wreck! I was hysterically crying in pre-op holding. He came to my side and sat with me and helped to put me at ease. He is so humble and kind, yet a knowledgeable surgeon. My surgical outcomes far exceeded my expectations and I could not be more thrilled!
Fast forward a year- my right side is rock solid, without pain. However, my left side continued to be problematic. Having had such a successful experience on the right side, I really wanted my left to be as "solid". There were still things that I was unable to do (on my own). I am in my mid-50's, but my body was acting like someone in their 90's.
At this point, I had moved out of Florida and tried to find a doctor close to where I live. I was traveling over 2 hours to surgeons who claim to do SI joint surgery, yet made statements that did not inspire confidence, treated me like a number, or where just derogatory- rolling their eyes at my situation.
I decided to get on a plane and fly to see Dr. Ameglio. I am currently recovering from my left side SI joint fusion and am recovering even better that last time. I am already able to do things I have not been able to do in over a decade.
Dr. Ameglio is not a typical surgeon that treats you like a number. He gives you undivided attention with respect and courtesy for you as an individual person. I feel confident recommending him for anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon- I say this as a patient and a clinician, being in healthcare myself for over 30 years. I am so grateful for his competent, kind, and compassionate care. He is truly gifted."

"I had a total reverse shoulder replacement on May 18th. Getting ready for the surgery I bought a recliner to sleep in. I knew several people that had shoulder surgery and they all had to sleep in a recliner for weeks.. after meeting with Dr. Ameglio I felt so at ease with him and had no worries about my surgery. I was in good hands. I came through surgery great and never needed one pain pill, NOT ONE. There was absolutely no pain, none. I was amazed. I slept in my bed, never did need that recliner. My physical therapist s were also surprised I had no pain. What a wonderful experience. This doctor is a gift and if you're lucky enough to have him as your doctor, you are blessed!"
"I was referred to Dr. Ameglio after seeing a very bad right hip x-ray. All of my pain was coming from my very lower back. At the time I didn’t know what an SI joint was. After a thorough examination Dr. Ameglio told me that my pain was coming from my S I joint. He needed to give me a steroid shot in that area to see if I got pain relief in order to make a certain diagnosis.
I had, at that point, seen two other doctors that seem to think by the x-ray that I just needed a total hip replacement. Dr. Ameglio was so understanding. I was so stressed out over having another steroid Injection. Well I’ve never had a steroid Injection that I didn’t feel until Dr. Ameglio’a shot. I realize that can’t be the case every time
but, I’ve had two now and the same experience both times. After realizing that the shots took the pain away we both knew the problem was in the SI joint . I wanted the surgery immediately to fuse the S I joint to get out of this pain! I’ve never been treated as understanding and as kind as I have in this office by all of the staff but especially by Dr. Ameglio and his wife Audrey. I wanted to be able to get back to my Life. I had the surgery February 3. I woke up with no pain due to whatever was it put into the area during surgery. The next day I got up by myself walked to the bathroom dragging my IV. It’s now February 14, I’ve never used a walker and aside from the normal surgical pain I have no pain. I made a joke when I got home after the first Injection, “ I love this doctor, if he wasn’t married and I was 30 years younger I would want to marry him! “ All joking aside I would recommend Dr. Ameglio to anyone who needs any joint surgeries especially those who don’t seem to have the courage, like myself, to want to face it. I believe he’s the best orthopedic doctor in the area. He is most caring, skilled, and appreciates the fact that some people are a lot more fearful than others."
"Dr. Ameglio is an excellent surgeon. He is very caring and take the time to listen to everyone of your concerns. I am under the age of 60 and I didn’t know what to aspect. He relieved me of all my fears after I talked to him. I had both of my hips replaced within a 9 month period. After each replacement I was up, moving, and walking stairs within two weeks. I was back to work within four weeks walking stairs and feeling great. The love of God is definitely felt in the office and the staff is nice and patient."

"Dr. Ameglio and his staff made my SuperPath hip replacement a pleasant experience. The staff at the outpatient facility were also very pleasant. I arrived at 6:30AM for the procedure and I was home by noon the same day. I was walking the same day with a walker and completely without it in 3 days. I've been doing the recommended exercises and walking for 3 weeks now without any significant pain. I had the staples removed today so, I'll be back to doing my own lawn work, swimming, boating and enjoying life again in a week. I highly recommend Dr. Ameglio and the SuperPath procedure if you are a good candidate for hip replacement."
"I was referred to Dr. Ameglio by a friend who had a hip replacement by Dr. Ameglio and was very pleased. I went to him after not being pleased by the DX of another surgeon. After examination, Dr. Ameglio assured me that a hip replacement would not relieve the pain as the problem was the SI joint.

"I had superpath left hip surgery in March- did phenominal! Drove to Arizona and Pennsylvania between May and October. Then in January had the SI fusion (right) - doing fantastic! Never used a walker-exercises and walking without pain or problems! Do not put these surgeries off! My life is so much more having the ability to walk without pain. I did meet with both a Posterior and an Anterior surgeon and they did try to "sell me" on their approach. Then I met with Dr. Ameglio. He didn't try to sell anything, but confirmed everything I learned in researching these options. He accommodated my calendar, and performed inside of my schedule.
His office team starting with Amanda are great. His surgical team was fantastic, so professional and sweet. I took my last oxycodone early the next morning, Tylenol only after that, but did use the ice therapy as directed. No cane after three weeks, and I've been going to the fitness center since the 7th day. The nursing and physical therapy, Pinnacle, that came to our home since have also been wonderful.

"I was referred to Dr. Ameglio by my PCP and was very happy with the results. I have osteoarthritis and was in severe pain for several years. Cortisone shot didn't work. So I was approved for a Super Path Total Hip Replacement and never having major surgery I was very nervous. "Wow! Never did I imagine to be pain free immediately after surgery. I had a SIJoint Fusion after 10 years of pain and discomfort, injections, ablutions and physical therapy. They day of the surgery, I was walking and sitting without any pain and no pain medication necessary. My mobility is amazing. I am less than 2 weeks out of surgery and feel completely back to normal, a feeling I haven’t experienced in many years. I had heard that Dr. Ameglio was a skilled surgeon but I am here to tell you just how skilled he is. I won’t get back on my bicycle yet but I feel like it will be a much more comfortable experience. "When I researched hip replacement surgery and read about the SuperPath, it sounded like the most non invasive procedure possible. I had never had any surgeries or even been to a hospital in my 66 years. When I found Dr Ameglio and went to my first consultation, he completely reassured me that I had made the right choice. When I returned and was prepping for the hip replacement surgery at 6:30am Monday morning, I asked Dr. Ameglio how his weekend was, praying that it was smooth and wonderful and he felt great. When he said: "It was blessed", I instantly felt like I was in the best possible hands. He was kind, genuine, and a brilliantly competent surgeon. I was walking up stairs in just a few hours and at my friend's home shortly after. I traveled to Florida from the Virgin Islands, where I live, and the medical care is not as up to date. I went home two weeks after the surgery and had lots of steps to navigate easily and am walking and driving and looking forward to swimming in the ocean very soon again. "I had my hip replaced on Dec 18, 2024 and had amazing results at 77 years old. I was walking without a walker after 4 days and no cane at 3 weeks, then I cut the grass! The therapist said it was the smallest incision he had ever seen for a hip replacement. I did go to physical therapy and was about 90% after 2 months and of course pain free. I had been in a lot of pain and I wish I would have known about Dr. Ameglio sooner, his SuperPath method really worked out well for me . After visits with several orthopedic surgeons I thought he was the most competent and experienced. After my first visit and speaking with a 90+ year old WW2 paratrooper sitting in the waiting room who said he had his hip replaced and it was "no big deal", that sealed the deal. "Dr. Ameglio was very professional, and helped me get my surgery scheduled in a timeline that was to allow me to still fly 1 month post surgery to attend a family reunion. My appointment was only 6 weeks prior to my flight. He answered all questions and was very helpful.
His office staff, (Amanda and Heather) are awesome! They were very kind and empathetic to my pain on first visit. They both provided me with all the information I would need for upcoming surgery and also stated that if I had any questions or concerns prior to they would be available.
The surgical center staff that supports Dr. Ameglio are top notch nurses and anesthesiologists! They kept my wife very well informed throughout the process.
I would recommend Dr. Ameglio to anyone needing hip replacement which I had, or any other orthopedic need.
I am now 7 weeks post op and feel great! No pain since surgery and back to being able to do things I couldn’t do prior to surgery, and was to able enjoy my family reunion.

"I had my first hip replacement in April 2024 and had great results. January 3, 2025 I had the other hip replaced. I am back to normal walking and water aerobics and will play my first 18 holes of league golf tomorrow. I have been chipping and putting for 2 weeks and played 9 holes last week. "I just had my right hip replaced 3 years after my left hip due to osteoarthritis. Dr. Ameglio performed both surgeries. I had easy recoveries with both surgeries with no post surgical complications.
